    Our Guided Principles

Above and beyond our already stringent code of ethics and guidelines for education, our professional staff are guided by the principals and ethical codes of the following State and Federal Organizations:

    • ISBE.net – Illinois State Board of Education
    • IDEA- Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
    • LEAs- Local Education Agencies
    • IAASE- Illinois Alliance of Administrators of Special Education
    • SELA- Special Education Leadership Academy
    • CEC- Council for Exceptional Children)
    • NASET- National Association of Special Education Teachers
    • NCLD- National Center for Learning Disabilities
    • IAPSEC- Illinois Association of Private Special Education Centers

    Our Curriculum

Academic Mastery teachers use a variety of researched-based curricula. A curriculum is selected based on an individual student’s needs and IEP team discussions with consideration of the state common core curricula used in general education. Based on individual strengths and weaknesses, specific strategies are instructed and supported throughout the educational program. The approach incorporates the use of technology and S.T.E.A.M across the curricula. PBIS skills are taught to help form more independent and motivated learners.
