A Message From Our Executive Director

Dear Local Districts, Families, and Communities,

We are thrilled to welcome you to an exciting new school year at Academic Mastery Academy! This year, we are introducing fresh plans, updated materials, and engaging learning experiences designed to help every student grow, thrive, and blossom academically, socially, and mentally.

At AMA, we take pride in offering an educational program that honors the unique strengths, needs, and potential of each student. Our program partners with Illinois school districts to support students ages 3–21 who have been identified with Specific Learning Disability, Emotional Disability, Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, Speech and Language Impairment, Other Health Impairment, and Autism.

We provide all related services in either group or individual settings, as determined by each student’s IEP. These services are delivered by highly qualified professionals, licensed by the Illinois State Board of Education, who are dedicated to supporting the whole child.

We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success for every student. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 708-897-9332, Ext. 202.

    Warm regards,

    Our Mission

Our mission is to provide an educational setting for students who are challenged educationally and socially in the traditional school setting, along with offering them an opportunity to work at their own pace with a prescribed, educational plan.

AMA creates an atmosphere that stimulates academic success. We also provide positive techniques for learners, in this ever-changing, culturally diverse society. An opportunity is also given to parents and guardians to be involved in their child’s educational process and gain knowledge of the school’s expectations.

As we partner with our families, we provide educational resources to help students and families to reach their potential in life.

    FAQs

AMA takes students who do not have an IEP as a diagnostic student. AMA will do assessments and observe the student prior to contacting the sending school for a full battery of tests.

Parents or guardians are required to register their student by contacting their resident school district. Your school district’s special education representative will be able to assist you with this process. School districts will contact AMA for a scheduled school tour of the facility. AMA school administrator will schedule a time for the parent and school administrator to visit. A conference will be held at the end of the visit to answer all questions. After the decision is made for AMA to offer services to the student, a full application will be given for completion and start date will be given.
