Sashai is a proud Chicago Public Schools product. She graduated from Richard Yates Elementary and Whitney M. Young High School. Sashai continued her education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and then moved to New York City to teach High School English in the Bronx while obtaining her Masters in the Science of Teaching at Pace University in New York, New York. Although Sashai came to education by way of the non-profit: Teach For America, Sashai decided to stay in education because she knew that youth advocacy and fighting for educational equity are part of her calling and purpose in life. Sashai now works at OneGoal, Chicago (i.e. a college access and educational non-profit) as a Director of Secondary Partnerships. Sashai is committed to ensuring that all children are prepared and given the tools they need in order to achieve their postsecondary aspirations. Sashai A. Jasper currently resides in Chicago with her nine-year-old daughter, Rileigh, (i.e. proud CPS student) and Toy Poodle:Oreo.
